Nestle has been exploiting children age 16-12 and below from third world countries such as Africa for profits. These children are not forced to work, but are dependent on this work as their only source of income and their way to survive .
They are often forced to work long hours, under serious heat and a dangerous environment . It was recorded that their earnings per day is roughly only 50 cents to 84 cents (USD) a day , less that RM 5 daily , which is extremely below the World Bank's new $1.90 per day standard.
The company have been facing allegations and lawsuits on the exploitation of child labour for the harvesting of cocoa in third world nations from Africa.
